About Us

My interest in nature developed some time ago in a small netting dragonfly nymphs and tadpoles. As the tadpoles developed legs, so grew my need to understand nature's whys and hows. From Keeping fish from the local lakes to caring for the family pets, animal husbandry was well established in me as a teen.

As a young adult, I debated a career in the DNR (Department of Natural Resources) or as a professional fisherman. Choosing a career in computers instead was about as far away from the other two as you can get. Working in the computer field however, provided me with time and funds to invest in nature as a hobby.

With a beginning of a couple of aquariums, the hobby quickly developed into a business based on breeding the rarest, most difficult fish around. Saturdays were spent cleaning over 120 aquariums, talking fish with other fish folks visiting from neighboring states, and tending to domestic and overseas shipments. The 'hobby' turned into a business about the same time as my 3 young sons started getting more and more active in sports, school, and church. Then, one weekend, the fish business shrunk back to a hobby as all tanks, supplies and fish were sold as I found myself neglecting the family for the fish.

I spent the next dozen years happily balanced between career and as a chauffer/sports fan of the boys. With less reliance on mom and dad of late, the kids have become more and more independent. This allowed me to kindle an old spark and seek that link back to nature again. It seemed simple enough with the purchase of 4 veiled chameleons but grew quickly into..... a lizard room.

Today, with several room changes, new rack systems, misting and watering systems and about 300 geckos later, I find my passion for this hobby growing day to day- as it did when I was a kid. Please visit our Facilities Page for a glimpse of our Lizard Room.

Whether I am keeping a couple crested geckos or a room full, the devotion to each and every animal will be the same. Our number one concern is for the health and well being of our 'pets'. I will remain a dedicated hobbyist first and foremost.

Supreme Gecko came about as most small businesses that evolve from hobbies do- with the desire to share with a larger group with the same interests. Our mission is to provide animals that are healthy and top-of-the-line genetically. As important though is our need to share information about these animals and the best methods of maintaining them. I've spent some time putting together our information page and wish to keep it up-to-date with the latest information.
